Electrical Technician

Hiring company: Shell MDS (M) Sdn Bhd Work Location: Bintulu, Sarawak Contract Duration: 1 year Job Purpose: 1. Execute GAS GAME ME & EEI Preventive and Corrective Maintenance of the electrical equipments including electrical SCE equipments to ensure that the technical integrity and reliability of the Plant equipments and facilities are preserved at all times, in accordance with statutory and GAS GAME requirements. Dimensions: Identify: a) Equipment under his/her responsibility includes 800 plus motors, 250 kilometres of electrical heat tracing cables, few thousand lighting fixtures /starters/ contactors/ breakers, transformers of various voltage level, 19 units of VSDS, steam turbine generator, emergency diesel generators, transformers, switchboards, protection relays, uninterrupted power supply systems, HVAC, Building electrical installations, electrical workshop facilties/equipments, spare motors, portable lighting and etc. b) Numbers of staff Nil c) Other key statistics relating to your job Organisation: Draw or attach an organisation chart showing clearly the job in question, its immediate supervisor, its colleagues/peers reporting to this supervisor and all direct reporting subordinates with their respective JG/SG. Refer new proposed Engineering and MaintenanceOrganization Chart No direct report Principal Accountabilities: 1. Lead and execute Electrical preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance in accordance to the Scheduled Maintenance Program under GAME-ME and EEI in SAP. 2. To execute the HEMP and Safety Critical Activities in accordance to specific performance standard as per GAS GAME processes & align with CD&A for safe and reliable operation. Refer to CA list and SCE list. 3. Update the history of electrical equipment after execution of WO and close the WO on time especially for HEMP WO. 4. Create new JN to follow up outstanding items found during preventive maintenance rounds or after completion of Quick Fix WO. 5. Adhere to safe working practice in accordance to Life Saving Rules, Plant Safety Regulation, Electrical Safety Rules, Electrical Standing Instructions and Sarawak Electricity Ordinance. 6. Adhere to electrical standards/procedures/standing instructions and infrastructure planning whenever changes made or time base. 7. Perform switching of high and low voltage system without possible backfeed and be available for electrical duty call-out roster so as to provide effective 24 hours coverage 8. Support Engineering team for second line of complex technical fault trouble shooting of electrical equipments. 9. Participate in fault/root cause analysis for those repeated defect, produce counter-measure for continuous improvement. 10. Monitoring of electrical spares and materials. Other Specific Accountabilities: List down other requirements of your job. These include the following aspects – a) Legal/statutory Certified Chargeman for competency level up to 11kV with Class I switching authorization b) Emergency response Electrical Engineering Support c) Shell assurance • AEP ( Authorized Electrical Person)- to supervise or to carry out specified operations on high and low voltage electrical power systems and work on electrical equipment, to receive a sanction for test, issue and cancel Electrical Permit to Work up to the voltage level specified in the authorization letter and to perform the necessary safety procedures associated with such work or testing. • PTW Applicant - To initiate a PTW application, To provide details of the exact location and specific nature of the job. Where necessary, to prepare and carry out a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) of the job being applied. The JHA should be carried out earlier with approved copy attached to the PTW application. Key Challenges: Specify in 2-3 statements identified key challenges associated with the job. • Comply with to GAS GAME ME on timely execution, update of maintenance history and close out of the WO • Coordination with other disciplines for planned and unplanned maintenance works in order to meet stakeholder needs • Adhere to electrical safety rules and electrical standing instructions in order to carry out electrical work safely. Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Specify the educational background, qualifications and experience typically required to perform the job fully and effectively. 1. Diploma/certificate in Electrical Engineering or minimum 6 years working experiences in electrical engineering maintenance in the Oil and Gas Industry 2. Authorized by Ministry of Public Utility Sarawak or Pesuruhanjaya Tenaga as Chargeman 3. Authorized as Authorized Electrical Person (AEP) 4. Ability to lead a team of technicians 5. Ability to interpret Key Line Diagram and control circuit
