Job Overview:
A skilled Mechanical / Product Engineer to develop innovative products designed for capturing and transmitting images using ultra-low power wireless technology.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with creative problem-solving skills to develop innovative medical devices that address critical clinical needs. They should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about advancing healthcare through technology.
Candidate will be reporting to the CTO (experienced engineer turned entrepreneur that founded India’s first wearable tech company, creating award-winning products and recognised with the distinguished "Young Indian Entrepreneur of the Year" award).
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop innovative medical devices from early-stage conceptual ideas to final products
• Create product prototypes using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, Catia
• Conduct theoretical and practical testing on product designs to ensure functionality and safety
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers
• Oversee the manufacturing process and manage subcontractors
• Develop mechanical concepts to address challenging tasks in medical robotics
• Support verification and validation (V&V) processes, CE and FDA submissions
• Participate in in-vivo and clinical studies, both locally and internationally
• Create technical documentation, including protocols, test reports, and product specifications
• Ensure compliance with medical device standards and regulations
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in medical device development
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant engineering software
• Knowledge of motion control systems and molded plastics parts design
• Familiarity with medical device development standards and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (including proficiency in English), both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Creativity and innovation in product design and development
Desirable Skills:
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and 3D printing
• Understanding of user experience (UX) principles in medical device design
• Familiarity with design thinking and agile development processes
• Experience in publishing research findings or presenting at conferences
