-Advise project management on environmental management requirements. -Act as the liaison for environmental management with relevant authorities, such as the Department of Environment (DOE). -Ensure the implementation of mitigation measures prescribed in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP), as well as good housekeeping on-site. -Coordinate environmental monitoring and auditing programs in accordance with DOE requirements. -Supervise and conduct daily inspections and in-situ performance measurements of pollution control measures. BMP structures, erosion and sediment controls, including perimeter drains, sediment basins, and slope protection. -Regularly sample and test water around the workshop and mining area weekly, measuring ammonia nitrogen and pH levels. -Conduct site environmental meetings every two (2) weeks with project management and relevant work teams. -Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations related to the environment, occupational safety, and health matters. All statutory requirements concerning occupational health and safety, as well as internal safety policies, shall be adhered to by employees, visitors, and stakeholders. -In collaboration with the relevant department heads or Mine Manager, formulate procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to address environmental, occupational safety, and health matters. -Address any other matters relevant to the environment, occupational safety, and health. What we're looking for -Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or a related field -Minimum 5 years of experience in an environmental, health and safety role, preferably within the mining, resources or energy industry -Must have a CESSWI (Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Stormwater Inspector) or CISEC (Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control) certification, or an equivalent certification accepted by the Director General of Environmental Quality -Preferred to have Certified Professional Environmental Officer in EIA Project Development (CePEOEIA) or Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM). -Excellent knowledge of relevant environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks -Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels -Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive continuous improvement -Proficient in using relevant software and technology for reporting and data analysis
