We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Centre BMS Project Director to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the overseeing projects, successful completion of tasks and contributing to pre-sales team wih regards to data center facilities, ensuring they meet industry standards and client requirements. Candidate will be responsible for overseeing the project planning, execution including installation, verification, and operational readiness of critical infrastructure systems, BMS/DCIM SCADA, electrical, and HVAC systems, to ensure the seamless operation of the data centre in and arround Kua Lumpur Malaysia. The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure timely project delivery while maintaining high-quality standards. The Person The right candidate has about 8-10 years’ experience in a similar role. Knowledge of data centre process, Manufacturing Processes & Automation would also be advantageous in this role. An ability to self-manage the projects as per the customer requirements and support is critical to this position. The candidate should be an excellent communicator and be able to present clear day-to-day reports effectively both internally and externally. Candidates should be motivated and capable of the skills required in new and existing technologies. This will be a customer facing role reporting to a senior customer management level and a multi-vendor environment. Good interpersonal skills and able to interface with all levels, internally and externally, in a professional and responsive manner. A willingness to travel is essential in this position. Responsibilities  Project Management & Execution: • Lead end-to-end DC/BMS project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and budget-compliant execution. • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives. • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets. • Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues proactively. • Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory requirements within data center environments.  Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery: • Oversee the design, implementation, and integration of BMS systems, including HVAC, power monitoring, environmental sensors, and fire suppression systems. • Ensure that BMS solutions meet operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability standards for mission-critical data center environments. • Work closely with engineering and commissioning teams to validate system performance and functionality. • Evaluate new BMS technologies and recommend improvements for future projects.  Stakeholder Management & Communication: • Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities. • Monitor project timelines, ensuring that all commissioning tasks are completed on schedule. • Provide regular updates on commissioning progress to the project team and management.  Financial & Contract Management: • Manage project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial performance targets are met. • Oversee contract negotiations, vendor agreements, and procurement processes. • Track project financials, report variances, and implement corrective actions  Risk Management: • Identify and mitigate any risks associated with project activities, including finance and contract obligations. • Implement best practices for throughout the process.  Continuous Improvement: • Provide feedback on processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness. • Stay updated on the latest technology trends and best practices in data center business. Experience / Qualification Required: • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in data center environments. • Experience with data center power distribution (UPS, generators), cooling systems (CRAC units, chillers), and fire suppression systems.IT delivery & commissioning experience • BMS-related certifications (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Siemens Desigo CC, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure) are a plus. • 10+ years of experience in BMS project management, with at least 5 years in data center projects. • Proven track record of delivering large-scale BMS projects within mission-critical environments. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
