HSE Inspector
The HSE Inspector is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the effective implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. This role involves conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, reporting safety issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. Additionally, the role supports fire safety and first aid duties, ensuring that the workplace is safe, prepared for emergencies, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Inspections & Audits:
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work sites to identify hazards and assess risks.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, standards, and local regulations.
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices and recommend corrective actions.
Fire Safety Management:
- Assist in maintaining fire safety equipment, ensuring it is in good working order (e.g., fire extinguishers, fire alarms, emergency exits).
- Conduct fire drills regularly and ensure employees are familiar with fire evacuation procedures.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and assist with fire safety audits.
- Identify fire hazards on site and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Monitor the readiness of fire alarms, exits, and other fire safety measures.
Nursing & First Aid:
- Provide first aid assistance in case of workplace injuries or emergencies, in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
- Maintain and manage first aid supplies and ensure they are readily available.
- Document and report first aid treatments and incidents in line with company procedures.
- Assist in managing health and wellness programs for employees, such as health screenings or wellness initiatives.
- Promote and assist with the implementation of safety protocols that reduce health risks in the workplace.
Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification:
- Assist in conducting risk assessments for various work areas and ensure that risk control measures are implemented.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks to health, safety, and the environment.
Incident Reporting & Investigation:
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents to identify causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure that all incidents, injuries, and accidents are reported, documented, and tracked.
- Prepare reports on incidents and propose preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
Training & Awareness:
- Assist in conducting safety training sessions and inductions for new employees and contractors.
- Raise awareness about fire safety, first aid procedures, and general safety practices to employees.
- Ensure employees are aware of emergency response procedures and understand their roles in emergency situations.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, fire drills, first aid treatments, and safety meetings.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports for the HSE team and management.
- Assist in compiling safety performance reports and ensuring the timely submission of required documentation.
Emergency Response & Preparedness:
- Ensure that emergency response procedures are in place and that all employees are trained in emergency protocols.
- Participate in emergency drills, including fire, medical, and evacuation exercises.
- Ensure all employees are familiar with emergency exits, first aid kits, and emergency response equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, or a related field.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in health, safety, or environmental roles, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and fire safety standards.
- Ability to conduct safety audits and inspections.
- Good observational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Certifications:
- First Aid and CPR certification is required.
- Fire Safety or Fire Warden certification is a plus.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification is an advantage.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 24 months
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
