Our vision is to spearhead the development of this emerging market in Malaysia, which has no pre-existing template to follow. We seek an entrepreneurial, adaptable, and enthusiastic candidate to build and lead a new industry from the ground up. This role offers a unique opportunity for a strategic leader who understands the challenges of business creation, market penetration, and sustainable growth in a developing tourism niche.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the company’s mission and vision, including identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and new projects.
  • Advocate for sustainable tourism practices and cultural authenticity, providing strategic guidance on product diversification, marketing initiatives, and brand positioning.
  • Conduct extensive market research to determine best practices, industry benchmarks, and growth opportunities, drawing inspiration from established RV tourism markets such as Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Research and develop standards and modules for quality control and operations, ensuring that RV campsites conform to international best practices and meet the expectations of inbound travellers from Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Engage with landowners, investors, service providers, and government authorities to source potential project sites, oversee feasibility studies, and integrate required utilities/facilities.
  • Forge relationships with European agencies and associations to leverage their expertise, such as Star-rating development, position Malaysia within international tourism networks, and attract a global clientele.
  • Oversee project management and collaborate with affiliated contractors, project management companies, and owner-operators to ensure compliance, successful delivery, and ongoing management of projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, tourism, construction management, or a related field. A master’s degree would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in business development, ideally within tourism infrastructure, hospitality, resort development, construction consulting, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit with a successful track record in launching new ventures, penetrating new markets, and constructing business models from the ground up.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the capability to manage stakeholders effectively, influence decision-makers, and forge strategic alliances.
  • A thorough understanding of sustainable tourism principles, emerging travel trends, and international quality standards.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, think strategically, and manage multiple stakeholder interests in a dynamic industry environment.
