Drafting/Technical Manager

1) Implement all policies, activities, procedures, instructions as relevant and required by the Integrated Management System. 2) Required to be well versed and keep up with UBBL and authority requirements (for e.g. sanitary by-laws, Bomba guidelines, planning guidelines, etc). 3) Check all drawings in order to meet authority requirements, CAD protocol and IMS before submitting to authorities. 4) Check authority calculations (for e.g. area, car parking, Bomba requirements, etc.) and submission fees are in order. 5) Provide drawing list for Project Architect to prepare submission letter and forms. 6) Check that submission drawings are in order before checking by Project Architect. 7) Submit drawings or make arrangement for drawings to be submitted to authorities and file proof of receipt/comments properly. 8) Amend drawings for re-submission to comply with authorities' comments and requirements. 9) Follow-up with authorities to check that approvals are in order. 10) Assist Project Architect to compile CF inspection checklist and arrange for inspections. 11) Check architectural drawings against C&S, M&E, landscape & other consultant’s drawings thoroughly before being checked by Project Architect. Highlight discrepancies and amend accordingly. 12) Check working drawings on technical matters relating to build ability and compliance to authority requirements and building by-laws. 13) Guide and schedule draftsmen work to meet submission deadline and standards. 14) Assist Project Architect to prepare drawing list and to add to detail drawing list as necessary for tender drawings & documentation. 15) Schedule draftsmen work for preparation of tender drawings to meet tender deadline. 16) Follow-up with architects for necessary design input on details. 17) Check working drawings and detail drawings on technical/constructional aspects and with attention to specifications, compliance to building by-laws, coordinating dimensions, coordinating drawing references, compliance to CAD protocol, and meet IMS. Highlight/advise Project architect on detailing that are not workable and amend accordingly. 18) Assist Project Architect to obtain and select products and specifications to compile specifications for tender. 19) Sketch/solve technical problems for draftsmen to prepare detail drawings. 20) Draw details by manual drafting and CAD as necessary. 21) Assist Project Architect to monitor construction works in regards to quality of works, works are according to construction drawings and approved plans, identify defective works and issue instruction accordingly, resolve construction/technical problems requiring amendments to details/drawings. 22) Assist Project Architect to check and compile defects for CPC and CMGD. 23) Follow-up with authorities to check that approvals are in order. 24) Ensure all amendments are documented on drawings and update construction drawings for preparation of as-built drawings. 25) Undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior.
