Accountant
Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will handle a wide range of financial and accounting responsibilities, including cost management, procurement, invoicing, reporting, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with accounting systems (preferably SQL), and the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, budgets, and reports.
- Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
Cost Control and Analysis
- Develop and implement cost-control strategies to improve profitability.
- Monitor and analyze cost variances, identifying opportunities for savings.
- Conduct regular cost audits and prepare detailed reports on findings.
- Collaborate with departments to optimize resource allocation and reduce expenses.
Procurement Management
- Manage procurement processes, including vendor payments and purchase orders.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for procurement activities.
- Conduct periodic spot checks to ensure daily income tallies with the outlet’s records.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Assist in preparing budgets and monitor adherence to budgetary limits.
- Provide accurate financial forecasts and highlight potential cost overruns.
Compliance and Taxation
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
Process Improvement
- Enhance accounting processes and leverage accounting software for efficiency.
- Utilize SQL accounting software for data entry, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the accounting system.
Team Collaboration
- Provide financial insights to management to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address financial challenges.
- Perform confidential filing tasks, such as maintaining employee personal files and other sensitive documents.
- Assist in payroll matters and collaborating with HR outsourcing providers.
- Handle statutory payments such as EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is an advantage.
· At least 3 years in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in SQL accounting software, Infotech attendance system, and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Detail-oriented, strong analytical skills, and excellent organizational abilities.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
