Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Pastry Crew member to join our Central Kitchen team. In this role, you will focus on preparing high-quality pastries in bulk, ensuring consistency and efficiency in production. Key Responsibilities

Pastry Production

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in large quantities, following standardized recipes.
  • Accurately measure, mix, and portion ingredients to ensure consistency in taste and quality.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers safely and efficiently.

Quality Assurance

  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the company’s quality and presentation standards.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve optimal results.
  • Report any inconsistencies or issues with recipes or ingredients to the supervisor.

Inventory and Stock Management

  • Assist in managing inventory by tracking usage of ingredients and reporting shortages.
  • Ensure proper storage of raw materials and finished goods to maintain freshness and quality.

Hygiene and Safety

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines while handling food and operating equipment.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen tools and machinery.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Central Kitchen team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
  • Assist colleagues during peak production periods to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding production schedules and challenges.

Efficiency and Productivity

  • Maintain focus on minimizing waste while maximizing productivity.
  • Support efforts to streamline processes and improve overall kitchen efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a bakery, pastry production, or central kitchen is preferred.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Physically capable of standing for long hours and lifting heavy items as required.
