Job Responsibility
- To ensure that all rules and regulations and procedures regarding safety at work, health and hygiene are complied with at all times.
- To clean, handle and store kitchen and outlet equipment, pots, glassware, crockery and cutlery according to departmental standards and procedures, ensuring minimum breakage.
- To report and record any breakage’s to the Senior Steward, in accordance with resort procedures.
- To report any defects in stewarding and kitchen equipment to the Senior Steward in accordance with departmental standards.
- To handle chemicals in accordance with departmental safety rules, and use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring minimum wastage.
- Responsible for keeping floors and drains in all kitchen areas including fridges in a constant clean and tidy state.
- Responsible for the cleaning of kitchen equipment, exhaust fans/filters, walls, windows and associated kitchen areas as instructed.
- Responsible for the set-up and clearing of all resort buffets including equipment & crockery, props as instructed.
- To assist in all general works of the kitchens as required.
- To report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform, name tag and neat grooming applicable.
- Be fully conversant with all health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform and body language.
- Be polite and professional in any situation where the image of the Resort is represented.
- To use and store kitchen equipment according to departmental procedure and manufacturer’s instructions, and in a manner which ensures minimum breakage and loss.
- To attend all scheduled training, even if this falls outside of regular working hours.
- To attend briefings and meetings as requested.
- To attend any team building and extra-curricular sporting activities as requested.
- To perform any other tasks as directed by management.
