The Position
We’re looking for a candidate to fit in our Industrial & Employee Relations team to carry out responsibilities in areas of employee relations, industrial relations, organization development, and any other HRT related activities which includes the following tasks:
- Manage and resolve industrial disputes, grievances, and conflicts between employees and management, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.
- Handle misconduct cases, including counseling, issuing show cause letters, warnings, suspensions, terminations, and other related disciplinary actions.
- Conduct technical or domestic inquiries as part of investigations into employee misconduct.
- Advise management on employee relations policies, practices, and best approaches to resolving conflicts.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian labor laws, regulations, and industrial agreements, including the Employment Act 1955 and Industrial Relations Act 1967.
- Liaise with and represent the company in negotiations with regulatory authorities, auditors, and government bodies (e.g., Labour Department, Industrial Relations Department).
- Prepare and submit documentation for labor disputes, negotiations, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, update, and implement HR and ER Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes, and tools to ensure alignment with local labor laws and company standards.
- Experience in preparing and updating the company’s Employment Manual.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies and procedures across all levels of the organization.
- Plan and manage Employee Relations programs and initiatives to foster harmonious relationships and a conducive working environment.
- Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends, advising management on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of employee relations issues, grievances, and resolutions in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on employee relations activities and trends for management review.
- Familiarity with handling court cases and representing the company in labor or industrial disputes.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of working experience in Human Resource, with a focus on employee and industrial relations.
- Well-versed in the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, and other relevant regulations.
- Strong communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate respect for the privacy of employee records.
