Financial Accountant

Job Summary

• Serve as a key financial support resource for the UK Joint Operating Company (JOC), whose finance function is partially managed by our Kuala Lumpur office.
• Act as a financial support liaison for the Company Group in the UK.
• Ensure the completion of assigned tasks within established deadlines and scope.

Duties and Responsibilities

JOC Financial Support

• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports based on information provided by the JOC Finance Manager.
• Ensure the proper allocation of costs incurred to the respective shareholders.
• Act as a coordinator for obtaining authorized signatory approvals for payments.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the UK bank for all banking matters.
• Support the preparation of monthly short-term cash flow forecasts.
• Perform annual reconciliations to validate the accuracy of costs charged by service providers and allocated to shareholders.
• Address queries from JOC shareholders and furnish requested information.
• Ensure compliance with the Joint Operating Agreement in all work performed.
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as directed by the JOC Finance Manager.

UK Financial Support

• Manage the billing process for crude oil and gas sales upon approval by the respective shareholders, including liaising with clients for pricing details and components.
• Prepare and review monthly short-term cash flow forecasts, including reviewing draft cash calls issued by the JOC.
• Coordinate with external auditors on JOC-related matters.
• Participate in the assessment of JOC’s work programs and budgets.
• Provide relevant information for internal reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with company's finance team handling UK financial reporting to ensure seamless information flow and highlight any potential risks.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or Finance Manager to support the Finance Department's objectives.
