Plastic Mold & Molding Engineer

• Coach and share knowledge to enhance suppliers' competence, enabling them to offer the best mold designs and molding parameters that fulfill Bosch's and customers' requirements. The ease of mold and molding machine maintenance should also be considered in the design of molds, selection of machine components, and choice of secondary processes.
• Participate in the Technical Supplier Discussion (TSD) with suppliers to analyze:
  
  • the manufacturability of Bosch's and customer requirements based on the selected plastic resin and process.
  • whether the suppliers' mold design and proposed steel type can meet the part requirements.
• Verify whether the agreed Design For Manufacturability (DFM) during Technical Supplier Discussion (TSD) have been fully transferred by suppliers into the mold drawings. To review the suppliers' mold drawings for any unforeseen issues before start of mold fabrication.
• Onsite participation during new mold fabrication and mold trials (from First of Trial onwards) to evaluate suppliers’ competence in applying state of the art practices to verify new mold functionality and finding the best molding parameters window.
• Support problem-solving activities with suppliers related to molds, the molding process, and molding machines.
• Drive suppliers to effectively meet the deadlines outlined in the Open Points List (OPL) concerning plastic molds, the molding process, and molding machines.
• Share lessons learned with peers and suppliers regarding molds, the molding process, and molding machines.
• Any other duties assigned by Supervisor or next level Management from time to time.

• Minimum 10 to 15 years of working experience in tool room for plastic molds, including mold design, mold fabrication, mold assembly, mold maintenance, mold repair and mold modification.
• Knowledge and experience on plastic materials, secondary processes & other related fields would be added advantage.
• Demonstrates ownership, reliable, team player, self improve and independence with minimal guidance.
