Job Description:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer at YYC taxPOD, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of our web and mobile applications by designing and executing comprehensive test strategies. You will focus on validating new features, enhancements, and production bug fixes, while also preparing for future implementation of automated, performance, and load testing. This role offers the opportunity to grow into advanced testing methodologies and contribute to building a robust QA framework

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Execution:

  • Design and document test cases for new features and enhancements based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Develop specific testing scenarios and perform functional testing for production bugs to validate developer fixes.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing to ensure overall system integrity across web and mobile platforms.

API Testing:

  • Use tools like Postman to perform API testing, validating endpoints, data flows, and backend integrations.

Cross-Platform Testing:

  • Perform thorough testing on web and mobile applications, ensuring compatibility across devices, browsers, and operating systems.

Defect Tracking and Collaboration:

  • Log and track defects, collaborating closely with developers to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing to confirm system stability.

Future-Oriented Testing Initiatives:

  • Contribute to planning and implementation of test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium or Appium.
  • Support the adoption of performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace) to measure system scalability and reliability.

Quality Improvement and Documentation:

  • Continuously improve testing methodologies to align with best practices.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation, including test cases, test results, and defect logs.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience(s) in QA testing for web and/or mobile applications.
  • Proven experience preparing test cases for new features and executing functional testing forbug fixes.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing using tools like Postman.
  • Strong knowledge of QA testing for web and mobile applications, including cross-platform compatibility and responsive design validation.
  • Ability to work closely with developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to clarify requirements and ensure feature testability.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Scrum Agile workflows and tools like JIRA.
