Assistant Finance Manager

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in handling a full spectrum of financial and cost accounting activity ie Month End Closing, Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Costing, Forecasting & Projection, Budgeting and Cash Flow, and commitment Planning. Assist in the preparation of the monthly Group Management Performance Report Package for management review. Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are performed and reviewed timely on a monthly basis such as bank reconciliation, inter-company reconciliation, and, other balance sheet schedules. Perform analysis in relation to Profit and Losses for Department (Business Unit) statement. Develop and maintain all other necessary controls and processes to ensure that legal and financial requirements and regulations are complied with. Responsible for preparing financial reports for management's review of monthly financial results, annual budget, management accounts and other financial analyses as required by management. Assist and lead following team members to enhance their skills and knowledge, and manage the team performance to ensure work is smooth. Liaise with internal and external auditors, bankers, tax agents, company secretaries, and other regulatory bodies. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing actionable insights to aid strategic decision-making Support and undertake ad hoc tasks or assignments as required as on management’s discretion from time to time. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or its equivalent. Minimum 5 years relevant working experience, with overseeing experience is a plus. Experience in the Retail industry and knowledge in a full set of accounts will be an added advantage. Ability to meet multiple deadlines from varying sources. Ability to plan and prioritise work with time management skills. Ability to communicate and lead the team to support the business with a positive attitude. Self-resilient and able to work in a fast-paced and aggressive environment Possesses problem-solving skills. Knowledge of SQL accounting software or ERP systems will be an added advantage.
