What you’ll do
As the Head of Market Access and a member of the Country Leadership Team (CLT), you will lead the Market Access function to maximize the performance of the Malaysia business. You will define the market access strategy to enhance patient access to AZ medicines and manage external communications with relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will co-create the commercial strategy with Business Unit Leads to drive key projects and business development, ensuring organizational efficiency.
You will be required to :
- Develop and implement strategies for optimal access to AstraZeneca products through interactions with government, industry, and healthcare partners.
- Oversee the development and execution of patient access programs, ensuring compliance with local guidelines and alignment with business and brand strategy.Establish access related objectives and strategies, aligning them with the corporate vision to achieve profitable operations.
- Formulate and manage pricing and contract strategies to optimize product positioning.
- Liaise with government and private-managed care organizations to communicate AstraZeneca’s product positioning.
- Lead the development of market access business cases and secure pricing approvals with effective stakeholder management at the area and global levels of the organization
- Responsible for key account access strategies to maximize commercial opportunities and seamless tender management, where applicable
- Maintain accurate assessments of competitors’ products.
- Identify and develop growth opportunities in existing business lines.
- Hire, develop, and retain top talent through disciplined talent reviews and succession planning.
- Represent the company positively at public events and in interactions with external parties.
- Ensure a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance in all business practices, with effective oversight and transparent reporting in partnership with Global Compliance.
Essential Requirements
- A top performer with a history of tangible results in previous roles, with a rich business experience in the 1-2 therapeutic areas, 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with significant market access experience in in-market role.
- Your education background is in Science, Commerce and/or Health Economics, preferably with an MBA from a top university
- You can demonstrate ability to successfully lead a team, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed in a highly matrixed environment
- You have previous experience in managing relationships and collaborations with key decision makers in the local health care system, government agencies, regulatory bodies and the patient community
- Excellent communication skills, strong oral/written presentation skills.
- Display solid ethics and ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced environment
