Post Basic Staff Nurse in Renal
Job Summary:
The Post Basic Staff Nurse in the Renal Unit provides high-quality nursing care to patients with renal conditions. This role involves specialized care in dialysis and transplant units, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in renal nursing and demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and those undergoing dialysis or kidney transplantation.
- Perform hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and other renal replacement therapies as required.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatments, promptly reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Educate patients and their families on kidney disease management, dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and medication adherence.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of renal nursing practices and protocols.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing concerns and facilitating effective communication.
- Stay current with advancements in renal nursing and participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current Malaysia licensure (LJM).
- Post-basic certification in renal nursing or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in renal care.
- Proficiency in hemodialysis procedures.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and composure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3,300.00 - RM3,800.00 per month
