Purchasing Manager

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to support business objectives, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including Mandarin-speaking suppliers, to negotiate favorable terms and contracts.
• Oversee supplier selection, evaluation, and performance management to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing dept to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Work closely with internal departments (e.g., operation, production and finance) to align procurement strategies with operational needs.
• Optimize inventory management and stock control to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes.
• Develop and monitor purchasing KPIs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supply chain efficiency.
• Handle negotiations, supplier disputes, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee the processing of purchase orders and ensure proper authorization and documentation.
• Analyze market trends and assess supplier capabilities to support business growth.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the fresh vegetables, food processing or FMCG industry.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English to liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
• Experience in handling supplier contracts, sourcing, and cost control strategies.
• Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while providing strategic direction and oversight to the purchasing dept.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to RM7,000.00 per month
