Job summary

The Manager, BD Operations, supports the BD Directors throughout the Business Development funnel. The role is accountable for tracking and managing key performance indicators, including leading indicators (such as origination, validation, and success rate) and lagging metrics (including hunting and execution). This role requires adaptability, flexibility, and agility to enhance the efficiency of BD operations.

General responsibilities

  • Support for BD Directo: Provide end-to-end support across the BD funnel to ensure efficient execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • BD Metrics Management: Oversee BD performance metrics, both leading and lagging, to monitor the success of business origination and execution.
  • BD Origination and Pitch Support: Aid in BD origination and pitch presentations, including coordination and alignment of regional and country submissions.
  • Proposal and Contract Management: Oversee due diligence (DD), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Deal Approval Template (DAT) review and completion. Adapt proposals based on client feedback to optimize success rates.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiation and finalization of contract terms to ensure favorable conditions and compliance with company standards.
  • Quarterly Business Review (QBR): Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with Key Accounts (KAs) in alignment with a standardized format to ensure client satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Leadership responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the BD Director, Country BD teams, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and consistent execution
  • Performance Tracking: Lead efforts to track and report BD performance, emphasizing agility and adaptability to remain competitive.

Job requirements

Functional skills and knowledge

  • Business Development Acumen: Strong understanding of BD processes, from origination to contract negotiation, with experience managing pitches and proposals.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in tracking BD metrics and interpreting data to drive performance improvements.
  • Negotiation Skills: Expertise in contract negotiation, with the ability to balance client needs and company objectives.
  • Client Relationship Management: Skilled in conducting Quarterly Business Reviews and maintaining strong relationships with Key Accounts.
  • Adaptability and Agility: Ability to pivot strategies and approaches quickly in response to market changes or client feedback.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Proficient in creating and delivering impactful BD presentations for regional alignment and coordination.

Work experience


  • Degree or Masters
  • 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales operations, or a related field, with a strong track record of supporting BD processes and managing metrics.
  • Experience in proposal management, contract negotiation, and performance tracking within a corporate or multinational environment.
  • Familiarity with key BD metrics (e.g., origination, success rate, execution metrics) and usage of Sales Force
  • Prior experience collaborating across regions and coordinating cross-functional teams is essential, given the need for regional alignment and coordination.
