BO Chargeman - 33KV

Operation and Maintenance:

• Oversee the operation, inspection, and maintenance of 33kV electrical systems, switchgears, transformers, and other electrical installations.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults, ensuring minimal disruption to retail operations.
• Conduct periodic testing of electrical systems and maintain accurate records of test results.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all electrical systems comply with local regulations, industry standards, and safety codes.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect employees, customers, and equipment.
• Conduct safety briefings, fire drills, and emergency shutdown procedures.
• Liaise with local authorities or energy providers for compliance inspections and audits.

Emergency Response:

• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and restore power safely and efficiently.
• Prepare contingency plans for handling electrical emergencies, including backup power solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of electrical system performance, maintenance schedules, and repair activities.
• Prepare technical reports on system performance, downtime incidents, and improvement recommendations.
• Monitor and document energy consumption to identify potential areas for cost savings.

Team Supervision and Training:

• Supervise and guide junior technicians and electricians in handling electrical systems.
• Conduct training sessions to ensure team members are familiar with high-voltage equipment and safety procedures.
• Ensure contractors and service providers adhere to safety and quality standards while working on-site.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.
• Recommend upgrades or modifications to electrical systems to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
• Support initiatives related to renewable energy or green building certifications.

Requirements:

• Education:
• Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Certifications and Licensing:
• BO Chargeman Certification (33kV) issued by the Energy Commission of Malaysia or equivalent regulatory body.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems operation and maintenance, preferably in retail or commercial environments.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems (33kV) and electrical safety standards.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining transformers, switchgears, and protection systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, especially during emergencies.
• Good communication and leadership skills to manage teams and contractors.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
