Job Summary:
The Culinary Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality education in the field of culinary arts, guiding students through both theoretical and practical aspects of culinary skills. The candidate must hold a Master’s or PhD in Culinary Arts or a related field and possess at least 2 years of relevant experience. Foreign candidates are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and deliver courses in culinary arts, including practical cooking skills, food safety, menu planning, and kitchen management.
- Develop course materials, lesson plans, and assessments that align with academic and industry standards.
- Conduct hands-on cooking demonstrations and workshops to enhance students' practical skills.
- Supervise and mentor students on their projects, internships, and career development.
- Engage in academic research and contribute to publications, conferences, and other scholarly activities.
- Collaborate with industry professionals to ensure the curriculum is up-to-date with current trends and practices in the culinary world.
- Participate in curriculum reviews and improvements to enhance the learning experience.
- Ensure that students comply with health and safety regulations in kitchen environments.
- Provide academic advising and pastoral care to students, helping them succeed in their studies and professional careers.
- Participate in departmental and faculty meetings, and contribute to the overall growth of the culinary department.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s or PhD in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching or professional experience in the culinary industry.
- Strong expertise in international cuisine, food presentation, and kitchen management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to conduct research and contribute to academic publications.
- Familiarity with food safety standards, kitchen equipment, and the latest culinary trends.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage both theoretical and practical teaching sessions.
Preferred:
- Professional certifications in culinary arts or related fields.
- Experience in curriculum development and industry collaboration.
- A proven track record of research and published work.
