This role Subsurface & Wells (SSW) Data Management- Geochemistry supports TAO SS&WRFM team to maintain the global integrity for SS&WRFM (Subsurface & WRFM) data assurance processes, controls, performance measures and compliance. This role is a key interface between the TAO Data operations team and Upstream Development teams and other relevant technical communities. The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.
What’s the role?
- Execution of requirements and implementation of KPIs across multiple subsurface disciplines
- Support multiple data related activities through various stages of development within the subsurface discipline.
- Support Well engineer /Production Technologist /Reservoir Engineer by providing data and application support.
- Translate business requirements to functional specifications.
- Operational support: loading/managing multi-disciplinary well & subsurface data (well data and well documents to and within corporate and project databases)
- CCS data support - well screening, data mining and process data.
- Participation in the elements of Data Projects where execution can be performed in a back office / centre of excellence– e.g. data migration to align with new / global standards.
- Driving data quality improvement through interaction with local data analysts / consultants.
- Highlight and resolve challenges / issues identified during the data intake and loading phase.
What do we need from you?
- A degree in Engineering or Master’s degree in Geoscience with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of technical data management with adequate discipline knowledge in Geosciences is essential. · Good understanding of Geochemistry, Core, drill Cutting & temperature data.
- Experience in dealing with various subsurface data types including Seismic, Geological, Borehole and Reservoir data is an advantage.
- A good understanding of the oil and gas business and how it works.
- Deliver quality work within the agreed timeline and resolve any quality issues / complaints raised by stakeholders in a satisfactory & timely manner.
- Embedding innovative technologies in Subsurface to bring efficiency and credibility to project delivery. · Ability to build dashboard to visualize all available data.
- Demonstrable focus on HSSE
- IT/ data skills preferred:
o Petrel, Openworks, Techlog, OSDU etc.
o SQL
o Linux
o Data Visualization –Spotfire/PowerBI
