As a Drama & Performing Arts Teacher, you will develop and deliver a dynamic curriculum that encourages students to explore their artistic abilities and collaborate with peers. You will create a safe and encouraging environment where students can take risks in their performances, enhance their improvisational skills, and engage in critical discussions about theatrical works. Your role will also involve organizing school productions, showcasing students’ talents, and promoting participation in local and national performing arts events.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive curriculum in drama and performing arts for various grade levels.
  • Teach theatrical techniques, performance skills, and critical analysis of drama.
  • Guide students in producing and performing original works and adaptations.
  • Facilitate rehearsals and workshops to nurture students' talents and confidence.
  • Organize school-wide performances, showcases, and events that promote student participation.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate the arts across the curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessments to support student growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Teaching certification or relevant qualifications recognized by the educational authorities.
  • Experience teaching drama and performing arts in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of various performing arts disciplines, techniques, and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A creative approach to lesson planning and ability to inspire students.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
