Full Job Description

1) Job Purpose :

To manage Divisional Finance reporting in the following objectives :-

  • Coordination and consolidation of the Industrial Consolidated Division (Flash Summary) draft needs for Divisional reporting and Management meeting.
  • Ensure timely and reasonably accurate submission of monthly and Quarterly financial schedules of Industrial Division for submission to SDB in accordance with the timelines.
  • Timely consolidation and review of Monthly consolidated Financial Reports (“eFRs”) for Group BPC reporting of the consolidated regional financial schedules and it’s subdivisions’ in compliance with the Group’s Policies and Authorities (“GPA”).
  • Coordinating with Regional Finance team with advice on proper accounting treatment of technical nature to ensure compliance with Group Accounting policies.
  • Analysing and monitoring of monthly fluctuations on key financial items (i.e Tax, NCI, overheads, exceptional items & margin fluctuations.)
  • Coordinate and consolidate the Division comprises of Australia/PI, New Zealand, China, Malaysia and Singapore Group regional Annual Budget Management Plan (“Budget”) across all entities. Assist in drafting the Division Strategy Blueprint Financial document for tabling to Management and Board review.
  • To monitor, compile and coordinate Industrial Forecast results submitted by all regions of Industrial Division.
  • To prepare, consolidate and analyse cash flow for Industrial Division for Management and Group reporting.
  • General coordination of reporting and compliance activities across all Regions with Group Finance.
  • To prepare and review adhoc work request across all entities submission of Industrial Division to ensure accuracy reporting and compliance are met.
  • Liaison with all levels of business units on monthly financial and annual Budget exercise. This includes, liaison with all levels of Finance team within the Industrial Division for which it operates in.
  • Coordination of reporting and revert to SDB Group Accounts and Group Strategy on Industrial financial results enquiries.
  • Significant portion of the incumbent job would be to assist the Manager - Finance in Industrial Div. reporting on:-Preparation & consolidation of operational info for Monthly Divisional Reports (MDR) for Senior Management meetings and
  • Drafting of monthly and quarterly Industrial Financial Schedules for Group reporting and announcement.
  • Coordination of the Industrial Division Budget Plan with the various Divisions and operating units. This would involve the coordination and provision of an adequate level of support to the respective SDI business units & Regional Finance team in the preparation of the consolidated Industrial Budget BPC Financial statements (BPC submission) and Strategy Blueprint (Financial) inputs for Group Challenge and approvals.
  • · Responsible in ensuring the smooth running of the daily operations of the department.
  • The incumbent is not confined or exclusive to the above mentioned key responsibilities and may be required to perform other duties as and when required by the immediate superior and/or Management of the Industrial Division due to business expansion, alignment or other requirements.

2) Requirements :

  • A professional accounting degree on Accounting from recognised University.
  • The incumbent should have at least 3 to 5 years accounting experience in:-
  • Vast knowledge on Group consolidation of at least 3 years as an executive; or a group multi-national or public entity, of which 3 years should be in a Management Accounting reporting role
  • Must be fluent in verbal and written English.

3) Competencies :

Technical

  • Thorough and continuous knowledge of Consolidation of group financial statements in accordance with generally applicable accounting standards (i.e. IFRS/MFRS). Sound understanding of accounting treatment and postings in accordance with generally applicable accounting standards of Malaysia is a pre-requisite.
  • The incumbent is required to be familiar with Industrial and SDB Group’s GPA over time.
  • Financial data analysis and Report writing skills on group & divisional operating and financial position.
  • Reasonably good knowledge in Microsoft’s latest Words, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Preferably some knowledge in any kind of computerised accounting systems.
  • Knowledge in BPC reporting software is an advantage.
