Job Description:
We are seeking a Remote Part-Time Accountant familiar with multi-region tax regulations, specifically in China/Hong Kong, Singapore, or Australia. This flexible role requires only 4 hours per week, making it ideal for experienced professionals looking for a part-time opportunity. The position involves accounting, tax planning, tax filing, and payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and compliant daily accounting records;
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, monitor cash flow;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Accurately calculate and process employee payroll in a timely manner;
- Handle payroll-related matters, including overtime, leave payments, and performance bonuses;
- Ensure payroll complies with local regulations, including social security, pension funds, and tax deductions.
- Provide tax planning advice based on tax laws in China, Singapore, Australia, or Hong Kong;
- Prepare and submit tax filings for multiple regions, including VAT/GST, corporate income tax, and personal income tax;
- Stay updated on the latest tax regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and cost control plans;
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support business decisions.
- Support internal and external audit processes;
- Ensure that financial procedures comply with legal and regulatory requirements across regions.
- Familiarize with and optimize financial management tools and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP);
- Provide recommendations to improve financial and payroll management efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) are highly preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, tax, and payroll management;
- Experience in multinational financial management or familiarity with multi-region tax laws is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of tax regulations and payroll laws in China, Singapore, Australia, or Hong Kong;
- Proficient in tax planning, tax filing, and payroll processing with proven hands-on experience;
- Advanced proficiency with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide actionable insights on financial and payroll matters.
- Fluent in both English and Chinese (written and spoken);
- Capable of clearly communicating and preparing reports in both languages.
- Highly responsible with strong attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills;
- Effective in remote collaboration and communication.
