Position Overview: As the QC Instrument Technician/Engineer your primary responsibility will be to oversee the procurement and maintain all aspects of QC and R&D Instruments. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise in scientific procurement, and a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure spare parts required for R&D experiments and QC testing.
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts and terms to secure favourable pricing and service agreements.
- Ensure all R&D and QC equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
- Implement cleaning and sanitation protocols to maintain equipment hygiene standards.
- Ensure all purchased equipment meet regulatory standards and company specifications.
- Implement and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for handling equipment.
- Prepare purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement documentation accurately and promptly.
- Manage the compilation and sourcing of new machines, ensuring all necessary documentation and supplier selections are completed efficiently.
- Arrange and coordinate regular preventive maintenance (PM) for all QC instruments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instruments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Liaise with third-party service providers to ensure instruments are properly serviced and repaired when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of instrument performance, calibration data, and maintenance schedules.
- Monitor instrument performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments, including QC and engineering teams, to support operational needs.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians on instrument operation and maintenance procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience in scientific procurement, ideally within R&D or QC environments.
- Strong knowledge of chemical handling procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
