Key Responsibilities: 1. Resin Separation & Processing Operate and monitor resin separation systems, including density separation, electrostatic separation, hydrocyclones, and flotation processes. Ensure proper segregation of plastic resins such as PP, PE, PET, PVC, PS, ABS, PA, and PC based on physical and chemical properties. Minimize cross-contamination between resin types to maintain high purity levels for reuse or resale. Develop and implement new separation techniques to improve yield and quality. 2. Process Optimization Analyze process data and adjust machine parameters to maximize separation efficiency. Collaborate with production teams to enhance sorting, filtration, and refining processes. Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and increase recovery rates. 3. Quality Control & Testing Conduct laboratory analysis, including Melt Flow Index (MFI), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Density Testing to verify resin purity. Ensure compliance with ISO, ASTM, and industry-specific standards for plastic resin quality. Document test results, maintain records, and report findings to quality assurance teams. 4. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of separation and filtration equipment. Diagnose process inefficiencies and machine malfunctions, working with maintenance teams to resolve issues. Assist in upgrading and modifying separation systems to improve performance. 5. Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, particularly in handling plastic dust, chemical additives, and byproducts. Implement safety protocols for operating high-speed separation and filtration equipment. Manage proper disposal of contaminants and non-recyclable residues according to regulatory requirements. 6. Research & Development Stay updated on new resin separation technologies, circular economy trends, and sustainable recycling practices. Conduct trials on advanced sorting technologies such as AI-driven optical sorting, solvent-based separation, and ultrasonic separation. Work with R&D teams to develop customized separation processes for specific applications. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve process inefficiencies and equipment issues.
