The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials, production processes, and final products in a fertilizer manufacturing environment. The role involves developing standard operation procedures for the quality team, documentation of standard operation procedures, implementing and overseeing quality control processes according to SOP, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Engineer collaborates with production and R&D teams to optimize product quality and maintain compliance with environmental and industry standards. Quality Assurance (QA): • Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, FCO, etc.). • Create and maintain technical documentation, including quality manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality plans. • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. • Monitor process controls and identify areas for improvement in production workflows to enhance product quality. • Train staff on quality control procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols. Quality Control (QC): • Inspect and test raw materials, intermediates, and finished fertilizer products to verify conformity with specifications. • Perform laboratory testing using analytical methods such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and titration to assess chemical properties of products. • Identify and document deviations from quality standards and recommend corrective actions. • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues promptly and ensure that corrective actions are effectively implemented. • Maintain calibration and proper functioning of testing and inspection equipment. • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field. Experience: • 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in manufacturing, preferably in fertilizers, chemicals, or related industries. • Hands-on experience with quality testing methods and equipment. • Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, statistical analysis, and quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis). • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), ISO 9001, and environmental compliance norms.
