The Pairing & Sparing Specialist ensures the availability and optimal pairing of spare parts to maintain equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support operational efficiency. The role involves analysing inventory needs, identifying critical parts, and implementing strategies for cost-effective stock management.

Your responsibilities:

1.Spare Parts Management

  • Analyze equipment and system requirements to identify critical spare parts.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts, ensuring proper levels to minimize downtime.

  • Optimize stock levels to balance cost efficiency and operational readiness.

2. Pairing Strategies:

  • Develop pairing strategies for high-maintenance or interdependent parts to ensure compatibility and minimize repair time.

  • Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to evaluate pairing needs for complex machinery.

3. Procurement Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source reliable and cost-effective parts suppliers.

4. Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze historical data and equipment failure trends to forecast spare parts needs.

  • Generate periodic reports on inventory status, costs, and parts utilization.

5. System Implementation & Updates:

  • Implement and update Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for spare parts tracking.

  • Ensure that all spare parts are properly logged in the CMMS and paired correctly with relevant equipment.

6. Assist Maintenance manager in strategizing the maintenance planning with engineering staff, by preparing and performing monthly breakdown analysis report. Consolidate lines breakdown report and come out with analysis using Pareto to track the downtime numbers and hours.

Requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field. Or related engineering fields.

  • Certification in inventory management or maintenance systems

  • Knowledge in plant preventive maintenance activities, predictive maintenance and facility and utility maintenance.

  • Knowledge in inventory or maintenance software e.g. CMMS, EAM and related field.

  • Have 3 – 5 years of experience in spare parts management or maintenance planning.

  • Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices and Kaizen activities

  • Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical parts e.g. bearings, transmission equipment, motor and servos system. Experience reading and tracing PI&D drawings, electrical drawing, AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and pneumatic drawing
