FULL JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Conductor (Harvester) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and operating harvesting equipment in the field, ensuring the efficient collection of crops or other harvested materials. As a key member of our agricultural team, you will play a critical part in maintaining the flow of operations and ensuring the harvested product meets quality standards. KEY ACTIVITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Harvesting Operations a) Operate and monitor harvesters, combines or other harvesting machinery to collect crops such as grain, fruits or vegetables. b) Ensure the safe, efficient, and timely harvesting of products, following all safety guidelines and operating procedures. c) Troubleshoot equipment issues in the field and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operations. 2. Field Coordination a) Work closely with field supervisors and other crew members to coordinate harvesting schedules and field logistics. b) Monitor field conditions (e.g., soil, weather, crop maturity) to determine optimal harvest timing. c) Document and report harvesting progress, field conditions and any issues encountered during operations. 3. Quality Control a) Ensure harvested materials meet company quality standards, inspecting for defects, damage or contamination. b) Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure compliance with agricultural standards and regulations. 4. Safety & Maintenance a) Adhere to all safety protocols while operating machinery including the proper use of protective gear and ensuring the safety of the work environment. b) Conduct pre-harvest inspections of equipment ensuring they are in proper working condition. c) Assist in maintaining the harvesting equipment and report any maintenance needs. 5. Teamwork a) Collaborate with farm workers, drivers and supervisors to ensure efficient flow of harvested materials. b) Train and guide less experienced harvesters or field crew members as needed.
