Job Summary
The Business Development Senior Executive plays a key role in driving business growth by managing existing products and services while actively contributing to new product development. This role requires a proactive individual who can conduct market research, identify potential customers, and convert leads into long-term business relationships. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills to expand the company’s market presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute business development strategies to increase sales and market share.
- Identify new business opportunities in both domestic and international markets.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients to ensure continued business growth.
2. Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Analyze data to develop actionable insights for product positioning and business strategies.
- Provide reports and recommendations to management based on research findings.
3. New Product Development & Innovation
- Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, production, marketing) to develop and launch new products.
- Assess market demand, pricing strategies, and feasibility for new products and services.
- Support the development of go-to-market strategies for new product introductions.
4. Lead Generation & Customer Acquisition
- Identify, qualify, and convert potential leads into business opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key industry stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure new business partnerships.
5. Sales & Performance Monitoring
- Set and achieve sales targets, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
- Monitor and track business performance, providing regular progress reports to management.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.
Key Requirements
1. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
2. Skills & Competencies
- Strong market research and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM tools.
- Experience in handling B2B and B2C markets is a plus.
3. Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel for business meetings, trade shows, and client visits.
- Fluency in English and Malay; additional language proficiency (Mandarin) is an advantage.
