Job Description

  • Consistently manage the department workload throughout the day and allocate the necessary resources to ensure expectations are being exceeded at all levels/functions
  • Managed and develop relationships with external entities by, including but not restricted to, problem resolution, rate negotiations and strategic planning
  • Be the first level of escalation between Expeditors and its customers, vendors and other groups within Expeditors
  • Provide warehouse staff with necessary documents and information needed to receive and ship the orders as efficiently as possible to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Maintain operational and management reports, monitors and databases on a daily basis
  • Responsible for the management of all aspects of the department finances
  • Company goals/plans/targets will be championed by the Air Export Supervisor
  • Conduct themselves in the highest standards and exemplify Expeditors’ culture through attention to detail and a focus towards continual improvement
  • Keep department informed of current industry information and market trends
  • Administer consistent employee evaluations and reviews to develop department personnel

Qualifications

  • Fully proficient in various software applications (mainframe systems)
  • Displayed ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage workloads, delegate and follow up on a consistent timely basis
  • Able to identify opportunities for improvement, suggest such opportunity to management and develop and implement the necessary procedures
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to change, and function efficiently in high stress environments
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Compliance/Industry certifications required to perform expected duties obtained and maintained (DG, LATAM, Compliance, IATA/FIATA, etc.)
  • An intimate understanding of Export Compliance
  • Direct industry experience and knowledge
  • Ability to exceed all expectations of an Air Export Agent
