The incumbent will play a pivotal role to support the Group CFO to drive financial reporting, manage investor relations and coordinate special projects within Finance. This role requires an experienced leader with a comprehensive understanding of business management, operational excellence, and team leadership. The individual should have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, delivering on business objectives, and adapting to organizational changes, whether through expansion or restructuring. Reporting to senior leadership, the Financial Controller will thrive in a role that demands strong decision-making, exceptional communication skills, and a results-driven mindset.
Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Direct and manage the annual financial and operational planning processes, including year-end reviews and performance analysis.
- Monitor and evaluate monthly operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of operational and financial reports, including key performance metrics, to inform decision-making.
- Provide strategic insights and reporting materials for Board and Annual General Meetings to support organizational goals.
- Establish and oversee finance operational policies and procedures to drive efficiency and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Lead the development of solutions to finance operational challenges, ensuring seamless and effective processes across all departments.
- Oversee the management of financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Maintain a robust and organized system for operational and financial documentation.
- Implement and oversee internal controls to safeguard the integrity of finance operations and processes.
Investor Relations
- Oversee the preparation of key investor communication materials, including financial presentations, annual reports, and earnings announcements.
- Maintain strong relationships with investors and analysts, ensuring timely and transparent communication.
- Monitor market trends and shareholder feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate between Finance and Strategy teams to craft and deliver messaging that aligns with the company’s vision and performance.
Special Projects
- Assist in the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, or other transformative projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
- Provide financial and operational analysis to support special project feasibility and implementation.
- Ensure alignment of special projects with overall organizational goals and strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business / Professional Qualification required – Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience, ideally within the Oil & Gas Fabrication Industry.
- Demonstrated success in supporting management at a senior level, including:
- Experience managing complex financial and operational issues in a dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to achieve performance targets and outcomes within tight budget and timeframe constraints.
- Experience bridging strategic financial planning with operational execution, including capital and asset planning.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and supporting a range of specialized financial services.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of fostering collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
- Background in supporting workforce planning and resource management.
- Familiarity with change management processes and promoting a continuous learning culture within teams.
