As a Research Analyst, you will be a key member of the Imaging Team within the Data & Analytics Unit, contributing to iconic IDC Tracker products, which provide comprehensive tech supplier revenue and sales data. Your mission? To ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of critical sales data for print devices, scanners, and consumables across the Asia Pacific region and globally. Through dedicated data processing, standardization, and quality control --and close collaboration with local teams --you'll deliver trusted, actionable intelligence that fuels strategic decisions for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Data Processing, Cleaning, and Analytics
- Process, Clean, and Analyze Data: Be a key member of the global team responsible for processing, cleaning, and analyzing data related to print devices, scanners, and consumables sales from multiple sources in the Asia Pacific region and across the globe.
- Data Standardization: Clean and standardize data according to the IDC's internal taxonomy, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all datasets.
- Quality Control (QC): Analyze data to perform quality checks, identify discrepancies or errors.
- Regional Expertise: Develop an understanding of regional market dynamics AP region to contextualize data analysis.
- Collaboration
- Support Local Analysts: Collaborate with analysts in AP region and across the globe by providing data support.
- Work Closely with the Production Team: Oversee the publication of local data sets.
- Identify Opportunities for Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements in data processing and cleaning, , implementing automation or AI-based tools where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Economics, Information Science, Data Science) or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in data processing, analysis, or a similar role, ideally with experience handling data from multiple sources and international contexts.
- Proficiency in Excel is a must.
- Strong Knowledge of Office 365 Environment, including SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
- Experience with Data Analysis and Automation Tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Interest in Process Improvement and Automation, with a proactive approach to explore AI-driven enhancements.
- Fluent in spoken and written English is a must; Mandarin is a plus.
