About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading international renewable energy developer to help grow their team in Malaysia. They are putting together the core members of their team and are looking to hire a Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the APAC management reporting process to support performance tracking and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project teams to monitor project costs and performance from development through EPC, providing early risk assessments to management.
  • Manage financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including monthly forecasts, quarterly business reviews, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Support regional treasury operations and cash flow planning.
  • Lead finance reporting and business intelligence functions, driving digital transformation and automation opportunities.
  • Implement process improvements across the region to enhance financial control and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and execute special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Over 10 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills based on accurate financial data.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and financial modeling.
  • Extensive experience with finance systems and digital transformation.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with senior management to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Professional accounting certification such as CA or CPA is highly desirable.
