Role Overview:
The Senior Plant Manager holds a important role in overseeing daily operations within the manufacturing facility. This position is crucial for ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety. The role demands a strong emphasis on implementing and sustaining LEAN manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and shipping, to meet organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Develop, implement, and oversee LEAN strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization across all plant processes.
- Prepare and manage the plant's budget, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial objectives.
- Ensure that all products are manufactured in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining a focus on continuous quality improvement.
- Promote a culture of safety by enforcing strict adherence to health and safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and accountability.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency, product quality, and employee performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and the efficient distribution of finished products.
- Maintain effective communication with senior management, providing regular updates on operational performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in plant operations within the food and beverage industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing large-scale manufacturing facilities.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing LEAN manufacturing principles, with a track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software systems, quality management systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
- In-depth understanding of industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols specific to the food and beverage sector.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
