Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Manager – Energy and Environment to join our Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) team in APAC and spearhead transformative environmental and decarbonization initiatives across the region.

In this role, you will be a catalyst for change, guiding our business units on environmental best practices, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering impactful programs to advance DP World's sustainability goals.

This role will have dual reporting lines to the Vice President – HSSE – APAC and the Vice President – Sustainability – APAC, ensuring a comprehensive approach to environmental leadership.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement APAC environmental programs and strategies that align with DP World’s global vision.
  • Design and oversee environmental tools, initiatives, and projects to enhance operational sustainability.
  • Provide expert advice on renewable energy projects and biofuel adoption.
  • Monitor energy generation, consumption, and alternative energy solutions to optimize resource use.
  • Build robust frameworks for environmental reporting to measure and improve performance.
  • Support internal and external reporting, including ESG ratings, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and Board reports.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sustainability to address external queries related to environmental management.
  • Offer guidance on environmental impact assessments for new projects and expansions.
  • Deliver carbon reporting insights and assistance to APAC business units.
  • Contribute to commercial strategies by leveraging DP World’s environmental strengths.
  • Develop and implement training programs to raise environmental awareness and expertise.
  • Advocate for emerging environmental issues, such as water conservation, waste management, and biodiversity, across all levels of the organization.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on regulatory requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Represent DP World APAC in industry forums, ensuring alignment with evolving standards and practices.
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections across APAC, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • A degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the logistics industry, with a proven track record in managing and overseeing environmental programs.
  • Comprehensive experience in environmental management, including ISO 14001 and Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Strong understanding of the APAC clean energy landscape, encompassing renewables, biofuels, HVO, and more.
  • Experience developing and executing strategies, programs, standards, and policies that drive sustainability goals.
  • Demonstrated success in managing relationships with regulatory stakeholders and navigating complex compliance landscapes.
  • Experience managing teams and consultants, fostering collaboration to deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Proficiency in leading projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize challenges, analyze them, and implement practical solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with advanced computer literacy, report writing, and administrative skills.
