Operations Assurance Specialist
Job Purpose
- Evaluate and assure that the interests of the Operations Maintenance business units during the development phases of proposals and (pre)/FEED phases of projects are fully evaluated and incorporated into design.
- Contribute to the operational strategy and structure for the Operation Maintenance business unit(s) in conjunction with the Development Manager and in line with the receiving Business Unit policies and standards.
- Ensure that the technical and operational aspects are thoroughly assessed, evaluated, explained, and responded to within each proposal or project.
Core Responsibilities
Group Fleet Operation
- Promote Operations Maintenance business and brand awareness across all working locations.
- Represent Operation Maintenance business unit at Proposal Office location technical/engineering meetings.
- Identify and promote unified & harmonized operational practice across the global fleet.
- Review current operation and maintenance performance within the global fleet and identify strategic suggestions for improvement.
- Be part of the Operations Assurance Group for the project development.
Proposals (Concept Studies, Concept Select, Pre-FEED)
- Review client specifications and requirements and contribute to the development of the operating strategy and implementation plan for the Operation Maintenance phase (including Operations Readiness) to meet contract requirements and company HSEQ-MS requirements.
- Act as Operation Maintenance business unit representative in technical discussions with clients and potential customers.
- Deliver Operation Maintenance input into design (documentation review, workshop participation) and subsequent closure of action items.
- Collaborate with the Operations Assurance Lead to propose technical deliverables required to meet submission requirements, assign resources needed, and follow up to completion.
- Provide technical input to projects requiring specialized offshore technical and operational expertise to ensure that novelty, complexity, and applicable lessons learned are managed.
- Quantify the impact of project novelties into design.
- Contribute to project LifeCycle Value (LCV) assessments and calculations.
- Review contract and company requirements to input to Operations Readiness and OPEX budgets.
- Deliver technical inputs to the commercial team for LCC estimation for major packages.
- Input to Operation Maintenance manpower and resource plan together with supporting costs.
- Undertake initial operations assessment to identify operations risks.
- Prepare business cases to influence competitive scope, based on CAPEX/OPEX/Availability tradeoffs to make quality decisions.
- Interface with key Operation Maintenance stakeholders for endorsement on key decisions.
- Provide operations input to systems/equipment selection and configuration.
New Concept Development & Product Digitalization
- Bring ideas for new technology development “enabling” future business or “enhancing” project value.
- Represent Operation Maintenance in the technology maturation/qualification process, making connections with Operation Maintenance Business Units.
- Review current approaches to product digitalization and identify additional use cases or areas of opportunity for future application of the Company’s digital solutions.
Post Award Follow-Up (FEED, EPCI & Operations Readiness)
- Input to overall transition plans between phases and support technical/operational planning to secure a seamless transition.
- Handover relevant information to incoming execution teams and support handover sessions using standardized structures.
- Provide on-demand support for early operations assurance processes and support execution teams until determined and agreed between phase managers.
HSEQ Requirements and Code of Conduct
- Comply with the company HSEQ Code of Conduct as described in the HSEQ Policies, the 14 HSEQ Standards, and the HSEQ Procedures to protect people and the environment.
- Ensure that all personnel work in a manner that is not harmful to their own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
- Comply with the company Group Policy Code of Business Conduct and Ethics at all times.
- Promote risk-based safety approach and process safety fundamentals across business units.
- Provide operational input into new project HAZID/HAZOP as required.
- Participate in periodic safety study reviews, audits, and desktop exercises.
Financial and Operational Dimensions/Impact and Decision-making Authority
- Review Corporate Operation Maintenance correlated documentation and sign/approve as Operations Representative for Company Standards as required.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for Operations Readiness and Operations.
Represent relevant Operation Maintenance Business Units/Group Companies for operational alignment with potential/existing clients.
Working Relationships:
Works with Project Managers, Proposal Managers, Engineering Manager, and Engineering Discipline Managers in other company entities.

- Work with imperfect and incomplete information, drawing conclusions and using reasonable assumptions to form a position or make recommendations.
- Collaborate with a globally dispersed team, requiring synchronous and asynchronous teamwork.
- Adapt flexibility in daily work routines – early morning or late evening meetings may be required.
- Travel to developing countries and locations.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualification:
- Tertiary Qualification (preferably master’s Level) in Engineering, Business Management, or other managerial field.
- 15 years of hydrocarbon processing / marine / offshore construction / operations and maintenance experience, with at least 10 years related to floating production.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience with company commercial processes, financing, and Joint Venture Partner management.
- Competency in working in international locations, comprising a mixture of cultures and languages.
- Experience working in shipyards, construction sites, operations support, and project offices. Offshore work experience is highly desirable.
