Job Summary:
The Head of Financial Planning is responsible for overseeing financial operations, strategic planning, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, supports executive decision-making, and collaborates with key stakeholders to drive business growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations & Team Leadership: Manage and oversee the finance team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
- Financial & Management Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including Group Consolidation and quarterly regulatory announcements. Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Assist in formulating financial strategies, preparing annual budgets, and ensuring budgetary controls. Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Treasury & Taxation Oversight: Supervise treasury functions and corporate taxation matters, including compliance with evolving tax regulations (e.g., E-invoicing, indirect tax).
- Business Feasibility & Investment Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies and financial evaluations for potential business and investment opportunities.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as Risk, Company Secretarial, and HR to support financial and operational initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Business Unit Financial Controllers and Heads of Finance.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead the Group’s annual statutory audit process, ensuring adherence to financial reporting standards.
- Special Projects: Handle ad hoc financial projects and assignments as required by executive leadership.
Requirements:
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- Member of ACCA/ICAEW/CPA/MICPA
- Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or completion of a professional accounting certification (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, MICPA).
Experience:
- Over 10 years of experience, with the latest role as Group Accountant or Financial Controller
- Preferably 4-5 years of audit experience.
- Proven ability to lead a finance team in Group Consolidation, Budgeting, Statutory Reporting, Taxation, and other finance-related projects.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong background in consolidated and statutory reporting, with expertise in Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and Bursa Listing Requirements.
- Excellent financial analysis, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Controller, Navision, SAP).
- Familiarity with corporate finance functions such as due diligence, proforma building, and investment evaluation.
