Job Purpose:
Engineering and Design Management:
- Assist the Engineering Manager (Marine) and/or act as the focal point (Engineering Lead/Coordinator) in managing engineering and design activities related to Hull, Marine & Mooring, and Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Telecommunication (EICT) disciplines. Ensure coordination of activities within the project, engineering phases, or bidding processes to meet Client’s contractual requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
Project Phases Oversight:
- Assist and/or act as the focal point (Engineering Lead/Coordinator) in managing engineering and design activities during Conceptual Engineering, Engineering Definition, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and Detailed Design Engineering phases. Ensure the delivery of safe, fit-for-purpose, robust, and cost-effective designs throughout all engineering phases.
Deliverables Management:
- Manage the Master Deliverable Register, including calculation reports, engineering analysis, engineering drawings, and equipment/package specifications across all engineering phases.
Technical Leadership and Support:
- Lead, coordinate, and provide technical support/services for candidate vessel RLEC inspection, assessment, and selection, as well as engineering workshops such as HAZID, HAZOP, 3D Model Reviews, and Project Risk Studies to ensure compliance with Client’s requirements and Project specifications.
Project Coordination and Expediting:
- Expedite project deliverables and documentation, ensuring effective interfaces with internal disciplines and external parties, including Clients, Classification Societies, Regulatory Bodies, Vendors, and Consultants, in alignment with the project schedule/timeline.
Client Requirements Compliance:
- Determine and understand Client’s requirements and Project specifications, ensuring full compliance across all disciplines.
Engineering Execution Plan (EEP):
- Prepare the Project Engineering Execution Plan (EEP) in accordance with OBU standard procedures and guidelines, ensuring alignment with Client’s requirements.
Cost Time Resource (CTR) Monitoring:
- Coordinate and monitor engineering and design activities through the Cost Time Resource (CTR) framework.
Project Meetings and Reporting:
- Coordinate project meetings and prepare progress reports and minutes of meetings (MoM).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas sector (Hull & Marine) as project engineer and / or discipline engineer.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management of an EPCIC project preferably related to Floater projects (Conceptual Engineering, Engineering Definition, Front End Engineering Design and Detailed Design Engineering).
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Naval, or a related engineering discipline).
- Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), with a minimum qualification as a Graduate Engineer.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are Professional Engineers (PE) or Chartered Engineers (CEng) registered with a recognized professional body (e.g., UK Chartered Engineer certification).
