Discovering the role The successful candidate will be responsible for general accounting and the preparation and filing of all applicable taxes and ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulations. The role involves in supporting the organization in optimizing its tax position and general accounting support. Main Responsibilities: 1. Ensure timely and accurate filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns (e.g., VAT, income tax, withholding tax, fringe benefit tax). 2. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and implement necessary adjustments. 3. Handle all tax-related inquiries, audits, and assessments with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). 4. Strategize and execute tax planning initiatives to optimize tax savings within legal boundaries. 5. Execute and manage Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and General Ledger (GL) functions in compliance with company policies and tax regulations. 6. Monitor and follow up on outstanding AR and ensure timely issuance of invoices to clients. 7. Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly. 8.Submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports in compliance with Financial Reporting Standards (FRS). 9. Prepare financial forecasts, variance analyses, and Job Profitability Analyses. 10. Present monthly financial reports and provide actionable insights to management. 11. Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely submission of audit requirements and successful completion of audits with minimal findings. 12. Implement and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. 13. Oversee corporate compliance, including annual filings, registration of loose-leaf accounting books, and accounting system accreditation. 14. Monitor mandatory submissions to government agencies. 15. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely invoice issuance. 16. Assist in developing and implementing workflow enhancements for the department. 17. Liaise with banks, tax agents, and corporate secretaries as required. 18. Perform any other accounting-related tasks assigned by the line manager. Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification in the Malaysia is mandatory. 2. Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Tax Accountant, with a solid understanding of Malaysia tax laws and regulations. 3. Previous involvement in tax compliance, reporting, and audit coordination preferably with Big 4 accounting firms 4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations. 5. Experience with international tax issues and regulations is a plus. 6. Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in tax filings and documentation. 7. Ability to adapt to changes in tax laws and regulations, and proactively implement necessary adjustments. 8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
