Job Summary: Supermicro is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Power Supply Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our power supply products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality assurance processes, conduct testing, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality standards and procedures for power supply products. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. • Quality Improvement Processes: Leverage a strong background in quality improvement methodologies to identify and resolve quality issues. Plan and coordinate Total Quality Management (TQM) projects to enhance product quality. • Testing & Evaluation: Conduct rigorous testing of power supplies, including performance, reliability, and safety assessments. Analyze test results and identify areas for improvement. • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis for defects and quality issues. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and track issues across departments for improvement reporting and feasibility reviews. • Collaboration: Work closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle. • Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate and audit suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with suppliers to improve product quality. • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of quality control processes, testing results, and quality improvement initiatives. • Process Knowledge: Apply a solid understanding of Incoming Quality Control (IQC) processes, Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) standards, and component test methods. Familiarity with PCB Assembly (PCBA) processes, including SMT, DIP, assembly, testing, and packing, is a plus. Proficiency in IPC-610 standards and electronic manufacturing is essential. • Analysis and Reporting: Demonstrate strong analytical abilities to evaluate production failure data, track issues across departments, and create detailed reports for continuous improvement. Qualifications: • The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Communication Engineering (Master's degree preferred) and have at least 5 years of relevant experience. • Strong background in quality improvement processes and issue handling/driving ability. • Good conceptual knowledge of IQC processes, AQL standards, and component testing methods. • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 electronic manufacturing standards and troubleshooting capabilities for PCBA quality issues. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. • Proficient in quality management software and data analysis tools.
