Your new role
- Develop and deliver plans to shape the policy and regulatory environment to enable our business objectives.
- Partner with Director Operations SEA and site HSE personnel to drive continuous improvement in HSE and ensure compliance with Graymont HSE Standards and all relevant HSE regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for the company's social, environmental and economic contribution in the locations we operate through compelling communications aligned with global brand positioning.
- Support SEA sites to ensure proactive and value-adding community engagement that is aligned with company values and strengthens companies' reputation.
- Lead the development of regional crisis management capability and act as the initial manager in the event of a crisis.
- Coordinate any proactive and reactive media relations with other functional leaders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong corporate communications or corporate affairs knowledge with basic understanding of HSE(Health, Safety and Environment)
- Tertiary qualifications in public and government affairs, Health & Safety, environment, or a related area
- Experience in public and government affairs in SEA, particularly Malaysia, and/or HSE in a primary industry or similarly highly regulated sector
- Proven track record developing and promoting a safe work culture and understanding of Malaysia DOSH Department of Occupational, Safety and Health (Green Book)
- Demonstrated experience successfully developing and implementing health and safety strategies and initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with behavioural-based safety and HSE management systems
- Experience leading and working on cross-regional initiatives with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Strong in Project Management and willingness to learn
