Job Summary:

The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for the financial health of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, forecasting financial performance, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget, monitor performance against budget, and prepare financial forecasts to project future financial results.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide insightful financial recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and investments. Develop and implement cash flow forecasting and management strategies.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Audit Management: Manage the annual financial audit process, working closely with external auditors.
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring timely filing of tax returns and adherence to all tax regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Financial Strategy: Contribute to the development of the company's financial strategy, providing financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and profitability.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and legal requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior financial role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with financial management software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
