We are one of the largest palm oil exporters with over 10 processing facilities worldwide. These include state-of-the-art refineries, biodiesel, kernel crushing plant and oleo chemical plant. We also has several joint ventures around the world and has plans to further expand in China and Indonesia.
The key role of the International Communications Manager is to lead our communication strategies for the company on a worldwide and regional level. The incumbent will partner with functional leaders across marketing & Sales, Business Unit Heads, Product Line Heads to ensure a consistent voice across all communications, that supports our business goals and strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communication Strategy
- The International Communications Manager work with digital and traditional influencers to create a consistent brand image, launch campaigns and programs, obtain local support, execute marketing plans and plan global events.
- He/she will develop partnerships, manage project budgets, offer creative insights, and work on multiple projects at once.
- Develop a robust communication program of superior quality and select appropriate channels
- Collaborates closely with marketing, public relations, technology partners and other departments
- Craft execute local, regional and global campaigns related to the company and product announcements, research initiative, global initiatives/events, industry partnership and the like.
- Will support internal communication of Group’s policies and growth strategies.
New Product Development Communications
- Lead new product development communication projects/roll out from concept to market launch working alongside wider technical, innovation and operations resources.
- Ensure benefits to customers and Company are properly identified, quantified and recorded
- Review the successes of all new product launches and category strategies against targets and sales.
Branding, Marketing Strategy and Development
- Maintain brand integrity across all company marketing initiatives and communications and manage category performance.
- Develop and ensure that brand governance are strictly adhered.
- Focus on designing and executing a comprehensive communications program to build brand awareness, reputation & loyalty of Company as a world leader in palm and palm products.
- Build relationship with important external audiences, including customers and partners, to ensure good quality & consistency to the way Company is perceived and what we represent.
- Keeps abreast of key and emerging palm industry players, identifying which to strategically engage with, and support championing these relationships within the business.
- Develop time-bound, target oriented, prioritised initiatives to achieve both strategic and annual rolling plans.
- Establish and extend Company’s market presence, establish our position in the ecosystem and manage partner relationships
- Ensure all relevant stakeholders are updated on the progress of these initiatives and are involved at the required level.
- Select appropriate channels and take ownership of external partner relationships, managing budgets and agency relationships as required to meet committed deadlines or other project parameters.
- Conduct robust post implementation reviews for the purpose of continuous improvements and share key findings and learnings.
- Customer facing communications – work with Marketing and Account management teams to identify opportunities to strengthen the quality of existing customer communications to customer using digital channels.
Education/Experience
- Track record of executing communications strategies and plans across multiple areas including product, corporate, financial, executive and internal communications.
- Experience in building and managing a team of communications professionals across public relations, social media, and content writing.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to influence and work in cross functional teams.
- At least 10 years of communications experience, ideally in corporate, resources-based or manufacturing industry
- Outstanding knowledge of global and regional media and social media platforms, and has the results to prove it.
- Executive communications experience, including presentation development, media briefing and coaching.
- A minimum of Bachelor degree in Public Relation, Journalism, Communications or related field
- Proficient in MS Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with different departments, cultures and teams
- Able to travel to different sites as and when required
