OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION

  • Work closely with the ED’s leaders and people manager, advise and support them to translate business priorities and organization needs into people and HR initiatives in the sub-region ASEANA.
  • Work will include support leadership team with organization development, employee communications, ED HR framework execution, HR operations, talent acquisition, policy advice & adherence.
  • Interface with HR CoEs and share sub-region’s intelligence with HR colleagues across ED Asia Pacific as one HR team.
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Manager, Country HR as part of BMS local HR team, responsible for local HR matters in Malaysia (Pasir Gudang Plant and BUO office)



Responsibilities

  • Work with ED leaders and people manager in ASEANA (covering Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia & New Zealand) to consult, share insights and execute critical HR topics, with a focus on creating a high-performing and productive workforce, and enhancing a change mindset as aligned with the Business and Corporate Strategy
  • Build and maintain a relationship as trusted HR partner with key stakeholders in the sub-region.
  • Coach manager and employees on people matters including performance, terminations, disciplinary issues, career development, covering office and production site (Pasir Gudang) ED employees.
  • Manage and execute BASF HR framework to the sub-region (mainly in Malaysia, for rest of the countries, annual process will be administered by Country HR team), incl. annual salary review, performance management, talent forum, succession planning, talent program nomination etc.
  • Discuss with sub-region leaders to identify training & development and succession needs. Contribute to ED HR initiatives such as Career Profiles, Sales Incentive Plan, Teaching@ED etc., and implement to the sub-region.
  • Drive internal and external sourcing for candidates should vacancies arise in Malaysia. Manage the end-to-end recruiting process, offer proposals, employee onboarding.
  • Foster employee engagement/motivation by promoting recognition and regular employee communication in the sub-region.
  • Coach and provide guidance to the Site HR or direct reports (2 in Indonesia), with an aim to provide pragmatic and efficient HR services and solutions to the sub-region.
  • Delegated authority by the MD and OD to raise ticket to HRS on items related to HR Master Data maintenance requests e.g., Employee information movement/changes, payroll or compensation input, termination, etc."
  • Country/Site HR responsibilities for Malaysia ED employees:
  • Manage key HR transaction and operations including merit cycle, employee data maintenance, contract management, sales incentive computation etc. with SSC or CoE in Country HR team.
  • Responsible for ER & IR matters within the office & ED plant, which consist of staff disciplines, industrial relations disputes.
  • Review key HR transaction and operations that’s to be processed by the Share Service Center (KL Hub) including merit cycle, employee data maintenance, contract management, sales incentive computation etc.



Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or a related discipline; Master’s degree will be preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional HR experience in a multinational company environment, specifically in HR generalist and/or business partnering areas
  • Solid experience and knowledge in local HR practices and statutory requirement
  • Solid HR advisory experience across multiple client groups and locations
  • Proven record of driving and implementing people initiatives
