Munich Re Retakaful is Munich Re Group’s worldwide Retakaful operations business focusing on providing Islamic Retakaful solutions to our clients in Malaysia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

We are looking for a 6-month IT Risk Management Intern to support our Risk and Compliance department. Reporting to the Chief Risk and Compliance officer, you will gain experience in topics like financial institution infrastructure and networking, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and Operating systems and security features, amongst others.

Your role:

  • Support Chief Risk and Compliance Officer in matters relating to the needs of business functions;
  • Initialize outsourcing, cyber, and IT risk assessments based on RMiT requirements;
  • Gain knowledge of cloud computing platforms;
  • Assist in the development of risk assessment reports and presentations, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring;
  • Participate in teams meetings and contributing to discussions on IT risk and cybersecurity topics; and
  • Support the implementation of IT risk management and cybersecurity best practices.


Your profile:

  • University Degree in any IT related field.
  • Proficiency in both Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of coding and risk management would be advantageous.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, including the ability to articulate and sound writing and presentation skills.
  • Well-developed time management skills, ability to work independently while supporting teamwork and a keen attitude to learn.
  • You will be based in Kuala Lumpur.
