Field Reporting and Coverage • Attend press conferences, events, and other assignments to gather information and conduct interviews. • Capture photographs, videos, or audio recordings when needed to supplement stories. • Build and maintain relationships with sources and industry contacts for exclusive insights and information. 6. Story Planning and Strategy • Develop editorial calendars and plan coverage for major events or trending topics. • Assign or delegate specific tasks to team members, ensuring deadlines are met. • Evaluate audience engagement and adapt strategies to align with audience preferences. 7. Team Coordination and Mentoring • Mentor junior reporters, providing feedback to improve their writing and reporting skills. • Work with other departments such as marketing or digital teams to align communication efforts. • Manage workflows to ensure smooth coordination between reporting and editing functions. 8. Crisis and Reputation Management • Handle sensitive or breaking news stories with professionalism, maintaining organizational reputation. • Respond swiftly to misinformation and ensure accurate reporting in times of crisis. ________________________________________ Job Requirements • A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field. • Proven experience in both reporting and editing roles. • Strong research, writing, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio showcasing published work. • Excellent command of language, grammar, and journalistic style. • Familiarity with multimedia tools and content management systems. • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of media law, ethics, and best practices. • Strong interpersonal skills for interviewing, collaboration, and source building.
