Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities


A. Business Performance


Budget Management

  • Prepare the divisional budget on a timely basis for overall Deposit & Investment, Budget By Segments (i.e., Individual and Non-Individual, SME & Non-SME), and by Line of Business (LOB).
  • Ensure that the Key Risk Ratio for the budget aligns with the Bank’s direction.
  • Assist in preparing the revised divisional budget on a timely basis (i.e., Forecast & Projection) for overall Deposit & Investment, Budget By Segments (i.e., Individual and Non-Individual, SME & Non-SME), and by Line of Business (LOB).
  • Prepare the budget for expenses for the division (i.e., Budget & Forecast).
  • Prepare the budget for fee-based income for the division.
  • Oversee and manage the actual performance against the budget/forecast/projection and prepare justifications for any gap variance, especially for areas of unsatisfactory performance.
  • Prepare the ROIs for Business Proposal Initiatives (BP) under the budget proposal and planning.
  • Prepare the ROIs for business cases (i.e., Business Retail, Business Corporate, SME, Retail Digital Business, and Product) to ensure the project/business cases align with the approved Budget.
  • Discuss the ROI with Finance prior to submission to the Management Committee.
  • Support the budget coordination exercise and act as the key contact for the Budget/Forecast exercise for the division.
  • Liaise with reporting departments to prepare relevant reports to assist in divisional monitoring.
  • Coordinate with various parties to finalize the budget/forecast and projection.
  • Monitor PATD, NIM, and FTP.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Business Teams, and the Liquidity Management Officer/team to respond to any queries from the regulator division on funding plan projections for deposits and strategy to achieve budget/forecast & projection.

Management Reporting

  • Liaise with reporting and analytics departments to provide financial data for management reporting.
  • Prepare management reports on divisional performance for various Management Committees (i.e., GMEC, ALCO, BSSC, and BRC, if any) and for the Group Chief Business Officers.
  • Monitor divisional projects/initiatives on a periodic basis.

Deposit Analytics

  • Work with the business analytics team to analyze data related to deposit & investment of the division.
  • Provide business/deposit insights based on input from the business analytics team.
  • Participate in discussions/meetings related to data analytics and information for deposit & investment.

Liquidity Management

  • Participate in Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) working group discussions.
  • Assist the division & sales team in understanding BNM's LCR & NSFR or any other BNM policy/guideline related to liquidity matters.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management on liquidity management matters.
  • Participate in the Contingency Funding Plan (CFP) for the Bank.
  • Monitor Key Risk Liquidity Indicators related to DC.
  • Ensure the division complies with the Liquidity Crisis Management Policy (LCMP).
  • Review policies and methodology, particularly in liquidity risk.
  • Assist the division in preparing proposals/feedback related to Asset Liability Management Committee (ALCO) reports/matters arising.
  • Participate in system testing related to liquidity risk reporting (on a case-by-case basis).
  • Participate in Regulatory Risk Assessment Form (RRAF) and prepare gap analysis studies on the relevant documents issued by Bank Negara Malaysia.
  • Participate in divisional capital monitoring (i.e., divisional investment portfolio).
  • Assist in preparing proposals to be submitted to ALCO & the Board Risk Committee (BRC).
  • Monitor Market Risk Non-Traded Management Action Triggers (MAT) to manage liquidity risk.
  • Assist Finance in monitoring divisional transactions in line with BNM requirements (i.e., depositors' rates).
  • Assist with any queries from the regulator division on funding plan projections for deposits and strategy to achieve the budget/forecast & projection.

B. Division Support


  • Assist the Head of Deposit & Cards in developing and coordinating the overall business plans and strategies for the Division.
  • Collaborate with Business Analytics, as well as Strategy & Centralized Services, to develop strategies for the division.
  • Assist the HOD in implementing and tracking the Division’s overall strategies to meet its key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maximize and contribute to the Bank’s overall productivity and profitability.
  • Review and update the organizational chart for the division.
  • Prepare the divisional KPIs and monitor KPI performance.
  • Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by the superior, as per business requirements from time to time.
  • Ensure adherence to and compliance with all internal policies/guidelines and external regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
  • Strong statistical and quantitative analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau Dashboard) – value-added skill
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software – value-added skill
  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI)
  • Ability to work under pressure, dealing with constraints, emergencies, and ad-hoc deadlines
