We seek an experienced Chargeman to manage the operation, maintenance, and compliance of an 11kV electrical system in a commercial/industrial building. The role ensures power reliability, regulatory compliance, and safety, including routine maintenance and fault troubleshooting.Job Description
About the role:
Operations & Maintenance:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot 11KV electrical systems, including switchgear and transformers.
- Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of HT/LV switchboards, bus ducts, and standby generators.
- Respond to electrical faults and emergencies to ensure minimal downtime and safety.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with the Electrical Act & Regulations (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
- Maintain accurate records and coordinate with regulatory bodies (DOSH, ST, Bomba).
- Implement safety procedures and conduct training for technicians and contractors.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with TNB, contractors, and stakeholders for system operations, repairs, and upgrades.
- Provide regular updates to the Facility Manager on performance and improvement plans.
Energy & Project Management:
- Monitor energy consumption and implement cost-saving measures.
- Support electrical and mechanical projects, including system upgrades and sustainability initiatives.
About you:
- Chargeman HT certification (B0 – PJ6) for a minimum of 11KV installations.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintaining electrical equipment, including switchgear, PLCs, electronic sensors, inverters, and transformers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team/contractor management skills.
